Covid 19 Week Four - Almost A Month of Self Isolation

I'm not overly great at updating the blog even though I'm doing virtually nothing but I'm cutting myself some slack given the ~unique~ circumstances.
My daily life consists mostly of waking up around 8:30am and watching TikToks until around 9 or 9:30. Then I'll wake up and go workout. I'll run about two miles and then do an ab and flute circuit. After that I'll shower and come back downstairs for breakfast and start some homework. Carson, my boyfriend, had set up our old Wii for my sister and I before isolation so we've been really enjoying playing Mario. Usually I'll just putter around the house and take the dogs for a walk before dinner with the family and then we'll usually all watch a movie together. I started doing a daily pyramid like on Dance Moms where I rank the family members (including the two dogs) on their past day performance. Usually Frankie (my dog) is on the bottom because she's whiny and needs to be let out too much and Cleo (Leah's dog) is on the top because all she does is sit on the front porch and look over the house.
To keep myself busy, I got a model of the titanic to build. I usually do planes but I had made all of the ones at Michael's when we went at the first sign of the severity of isolation. I've been building it a little bit every day to try to drag it out as long as possible. In addition to the model, Leah and I play Mario on the Wii and I've been trying to keep up posting on this blog and making TikToks. I've also been trying to pick up writing again. I'm working on a new novel and play that will hopefully get done with my time in isolation. I'm getting a little bored now that my school is basically all complete and I have seemed to have watched every video on YouTube and Netflix. I've been Face Timing with my friends and we've also started planning a trip to the Dominican for reading week in February if all of this is cleared up by then. Hopefully this doesn't last too much longer but whatever has to be done for everyone to be ok is understandable.
Some updates with school now. I've finished all of my midterms (I had two I had to do in isolation) and now everything is primarily assignments. I don't really have that much to do anymore for school and this week I finished my weeks work of school on Monday so now I'm just hanging out around the house for the rest of the week. I find all of the days kind of mold together now and I'm waking up in the middle of the night worried I'm not submitting assignments and have to reassure myself.
My mom's company had their first death last week from Corona so that was a very harsh reality check that this is very much so real and happening close to home. Since then we've just been constantly keeping up with the news to stay updated and educated.
I moved completely out of residence on Sunday. We went in with masks and gloves to clean and move everything out. It was completely dead. I returned my keys and got a refund for my meal plan. That day, Leah and I also went to the store here in Cochrane and they were making us line up outside and come in every few at a time so as to not crowd the place. It was really weird to see everyone in masks with only about ten of us in the store.
We also went to visit my grandma with Alzheimers at her care home in the city. It was really sad because we all felt so hopeless. They wouldn't let any visitors in, understandably, so what we've been doing is just waiting outside the window in the kitchen area. One of the nurses will bring her over so we can speak with her through paper signs we make in the car ride over. She's very confused and doesn't really recognize us but she looks healthy. We got to speak with her on the phone the last time we went to visit and she was incredibly confused and had no idea who we were from the other side on the window but we could see her and that's all that really matters at this point.
That was the update for this past week. Not much has changed but it is getting worse. I was incredibly lucky to score a phone interview for a job this summer in my field which is super impressive given the circumstances even if I don't get the position. I'll hear back by the end of this week so hopefully everything does well.
Until then.
