Cases in Canada
Since my last update I finished my spring courses, I passed accounting with a B and I've been too nervous to check my finance grade because I'm genuinely worried I didn't pass. This happens almost every semester though you it's definitely nothing new for me, I usually just make Carson check my grades since I gave him my password for this exact reason and it always ends up that I did a lot better than I expected. I'm a really good student, I just get myself all worked up about math courses since those are the only courses that stray away from my A- average and after failing first year calculus and having to retake that course I've developed a bit of a phobia.
Since I'm done my courses now I can focus on the other things I want to spend my time doing for the remainder of the summer which consists of working on my business startup as well as some writing and blogging/vlogging.
In terms of the virus, Calgary was down to only four cases the last I heard there were only four active cases in Calgary, all four recovering, but this has led us to two more very real, very terrifying threats: we will most likely never full recover from the virus and the threat of a second wave. People have begun to go out in public more and more and have begun to leave their masks at home, myself included. My sister and I went to the mall the other day which was packed at a "normal" volume and was one of the first sense of normal since this all started. Leah also had her high school graduation ceremony last weekend where we ha my boyfriend and two other family friends come over as well as were surprised by another family with their graduate and her older sister and boyfriend. That was a fun night of drinking and good food but was maybe a bit too normal given the circumstances.
The university has released the course list for the fall, stating that they are sending 14% of undergraduates back in person in some form, either fully in person courses or half and half, but Carson, myself, and Leah got stuck with the full online course load. That's a little disappointing for Leah considering it's her first year but her and I are looking at apartments in the fall near the university so at least we can maintain that small piece of what normal life would have looked like had this not happened.
The US is still getting absolutely annihilated by the virus but what can you expect. The second wave is coming and I think we all can feel it and like I mentioned above, a lot of us are worried life will never go back to the "normal" that it was pre corona virus. The good news though is that the movie theatres are opening with $5 movies for the time being, not that anything good is playing.
Until next time.
